So, I thought about building up an website in which I could put my ides, thoughts, keep my diary, etc. It seemed cool.
So the question is: 1-Do you think this is a stupid idea?
2-Where can I find an web hosting where I can build for free a site and put a password protection? (because I undoubtly need a password protecion!)
Personal webpage?
1. This is not a stupid idea. People keep paper based journals, so why not upgrade to a virtual one? I keep a blog, as they are called.
2. I suggest using a blog tool, such as blogger or livejournal. You can set them to private so that only you ... and selected people if you wish, can view it.
Personal webpage?
Make whatever you want. :)
I have a really lightweight password protection thing that I did with my students. All you need is javascript; no database or anything else. If you can add a line of js you can use it.
Drop me a note and I%26#039;ll share it with you.
Other Replys:Well one it sounds like a really cool idea and 2 most websites have password protection in them so that will be good for your specific need so if you try
Freewebs.com
or if you want here is a list of the best free website hosting
Other Replys:Blogging isn%26#039;t stupid. There are lots of bad blogs out there, but lots of good ones, too.
MySpace. It has a blogging feature and it%26#039;s free. You can prevent people who are not MySpace %26quot;friends%26quot; from viewing your blog.
http://www.blogger.com has free blogs. You can%26#039;t really %26quot;password protect%26quot; it from prying eyes, but if you indicate you don%26#039;t want it in the directory, and you don%26#039;t tell people about it other than people you want to have view it, no one will find it, and thus, it%26#039;s private / protected.
http://www.WordPress.com also offers free blogs and you can password-protect (make private) individual posts, or restrict anyone who isn%26#039;t a %26quot;member%26quot; of your blog from viewing any posts at all.
Other Replys:VOX is the best free blogging for anyone... seen many pros use or start out with this...
