How do I learn Linux server management?

I wish to become a master at Linux Server Management (mainly Fedora) so that I can manage web hosting servers. Where do I start? How do I go about it? How much time will it take?

You can start with a book on System / Network Administration if you are already familiar with the Linux Operating System. There is a lot of documentation and other reference material available on the net in the form of tutorials and guides. A book will however help you in learning things systematically. A good starting point is the Linux Documentation Project at http://www.tldp.org/.

Hi

If you just want to play and learn, I suggest testing your LINUX setup in a Virtual Machine (Like VMWARE.com) which allows you run Linux inside a windows machine.

With Redhat versions, the PDF files that come with the release are very comprehensive, both for a GUI and command line. Release notes have answered about 40% of my questions and the rest in the search feature / knowledge base of the website of the OS.

Other Replys:Start with some books, move into some hands on experience and if your knew to Linux OS or even the IT field, it may take a while.
