MSN live messenger sign in help?

I have my own email address from my web hosting (not hotmail) and I wish to use that email to sign in on MSN. Could someone help me please?

There used to be an option

to create a .NET passport with an alternate / existing email (that is not hotmail / etc)

In the Signup for a Windows LIVE ID it only gives you a @hotmail.com adress to work with:

so i guess they removed it

you cant it has to be an msn or hotmail address. jsut like you cant use your hotmail with yahoo...
